The eligibility screener is responsible for ensuring that Charlottesville Free Clinic (CFC) patients meet income and insurance status guidelines as outlined by CFC eligibility policy.  The eligibility screener will work with patients either in person or via telephone to fill out CFC eligibility forms, collect proof of income, and determine eligibility status. Training and supervision for this position will be handled by the Patient Access Coordinator and Pharmacy Director.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to show empathy to vulnerable populations
• Experience in accounting or tax preparation or familiarity with tax documents
• Good attention to detail
• Experience with electronic medical records or comparable web-based databases
• Aptitude with scanners, printers and standard office equipment.
• Fluency in Spanish would be preferred, but ability to work with third-party translator is required.
