Arlington Free Clinic is seeking Volunteer Interpreters to support our mission of advancing health equity by providing comprehensive, whole-person healthcare to our neighbors who would otherwise lack access. Interpreters play vital role in our organization as about 95% of our patients are Spanish speaking. Each medical provider who does not speak Spanish is paired with an interpreter for the duration of their clinic session. This results in 25-35 interpreter shifts each week.

Generally interpreter shifts are Monday-Thursday (1pm-3:30pm) and Tuesday-Thursday (5:30pm-8pm). The default for most appointments is in-person interpreting, but we are flexible and able to offer remote opportunities for interpreters too far away or more comfortable working from home.

Volunteer Interpreters are expected to volunteer at least twice a month (each shift is 2-3 hours) and we require a eight-month or more commitment. Volunteers are asked to submit an application, go through an interview/screening process, and take part in an orientation.
