The Bristol Regional Speech and Hearing Center was established at Bristol Memorial Hospital in September 1955 under the auspices of The Border Guild, a young women’s service club. The Border Guild has since changed its name to Junior League of Bristol. The Speech and Hearing Center was incorporated as a private, non-profit organization. It is governed by its own Board of Directors, drawn from the professions, industry, business, and interested citizens.
