About the Guadalupe Free Clinic of Colonial Beach:
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has long designated Westmoreland County as a Medically Underserved Area (MUA) and a Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA) in the disciplines of primary care, dental health, and mental health. These were the conditions that led Father Jerome Magat, of St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Colonial Beach, to open the Guadalupe Free Clinic in an unused parish building in May 2005.

The Guadalupe Free Clinic provides free medical care to approximately to over 500 patients. Most of them take one or more medications. All our patients live in Westmoreland County, are at or below 400% of the federal poverty level and do not have any type of health insurance. In 2021 the Clinic saw 247 patients in 1847 visits. This is a 43.6% increase from the previous year. There were 104 new patients who joined the Clinic in 2021. Clinic patient visits included; 990 for the Pharmacy; 740 with the Physician; 245 for Laboratory; 176 for Referrals to Specialists; 21 for free glasses; and 673 for Eligibility.

In 2021 the Pharmacy filled a total of 3,101 prescriptions (1,666 new and 1,435 refills) valued at over $176K.
