While we are a faith-based organization, it is not required that employees or volunteers identify with a particular faith in order to be involved in this community. We strive to be a place that welcomes everyone, regardless of religious affiliation.

Responsibilities:

• Patient Intake – vital signs, patient history, prepare patient for exam
• Clinical Skills (testing) – vision screening, urinalysis, pregnancy test, finger-stick tests, culture collection, EKG
• Clinical Skills (treatment) – assisting OB/GYN visits, simple wound care, ear irrigation
• Injections – intramuscular, subcutaneous, intra-dermal, vaccines (CMA and RNs only)
• Phlebotomy – use of butterfly vacutainer, proper use of specimen, proper documentation of procedure (CMA and RNs only)
• Safety and Restocking – safe and proper disposal, disinfect exam rooms, CPR/AED certified, HIPAA and OSHA training, restock rooms as needed

Qualifications

• Must hold an active Virginia license or medical certification through the Virginia Department of Healthcare Professionals
• Comfortable using computers and willingness to learn how to use the Electronic Health Record system, eClinicalWorks
• Must be at least 18 years of age (unless otherwise approved by Volunteer Manager)
• Proficiency in Spanish is strongly preferred, but not required
